To  create a track with a video object, first add a chapter from the Toolbox into the Timeline track. How to insert a chapter object into your project is described in the chapter "Working with multiple tracks".

Drag a video object to the position where you want the video to start. If you are creating a new track, drag the video object onto the "Drag here to create new track" label. The file selection window now appears in which you can select a video file.

Alternatively, you can use the file browser and drag a video file from there into the Timeline. You do not need the video object in this case. The video file is recognized automatically.

You can label the video with an additional text object using this method of the chapter object.
