What if you could do a google search on memories or places you’d been and then watch a video playback of your experiences? Sound like something out of a sci-fi movie? Well, it could very well be the reality in the not too distant future. Google recently acquired a patent for a device that would allow the wearer to record video when paired with their phone. This video would then be sent to a server for storage. The patent further allows google to make the videos searchable, thus essentially creating a cloud back up of your real life. Essentially allowing you to conduct a google search for videos of your memories.
If I could go back and view an archive of my life, I would check in on my childhood. It would be interesting to see how my memory differs from how/what actually happened. It’s like that feeling when you revisit a place that you knew as a child and think to yourself, wow it looked bigger as a kid. Or when you look at old photographs of yourself and think, why did I think that was cool? I had a happy childhood, so it would be interesting to experience it again as the ultimate home movie!
If you had to choose one time in your life to re-experience through video, when would it be?
